Kihara are Japanese porcelain artisans who make and craft porcelain pieces in their workshops based in Arita, Japan. Porcelain production began for the first time in Japan in 1616 in the region of Arita, located in Saga Prefecture on the island of Kyushu. Arita is home to highly specialised craftspeople that are continuously looking for new ways to preserve and advance the town’s unique artisan culture. I collaborated with them to create a set of graphics and illustrations for a new range of porcelain accessories.
